Ally and Dave got married earlier in January in Nashville, Tennessee! It was my very first time flying for photography which was pretty exciting. I hope to make it more of a habit! To top it off, I got to stay with one of my good friends from college for the weekend and catch up in the moderate 60-degree weather mixed with plenty of sunshine. It felt like a mini vacation, but I certainly missed my husband and puppy.
I met Ally and Dave through my husband who is involved in the non-profit that they worked with. Ally was someone who was easy to talk to, down to earth, and passionate. Dave and I connected over talking about environmental issues and sustainability--including using mushrooms to break down petroleum, a project I am currently working on (yes, I am a nerd). Their personalities mesh well together. Dave was a bit more shy in front of my camera, while Ally was confident and encouraged him as he was the center of attention.
I was particularly moved by the message preached during their ceremony. As a couple with hearts set on serving those around them, it was so nice to hear a passionate message about being witnesses and following the path that is laid in front of you. I may have used my camera to hide the tears that were welling up. I sincerely wish Ally and Dave the best in their marriage. I feel very blessed to have been able to spend so many moments with them on such an important day in their lives.
