Michelle and Brian had one of my favorite late-summer/early-fall weddings this past year and it was held at the gorgeous venue in historic downtown Lancaster, Excelsior. This venue is pretty much a combination of five different venues between the many different backdrops you can pick from! I was a huge fan of the modern architecture, combined with the historic remnants of the original building that remained on site. In addition, the owners created several greenery spaces with rooftop gardening methods, a vertical hanging garden, and an outdoor patio with a green wall, hanging ferns and smaller manicured gardens. Excelsior is a gem in the City of Lancaster and it’s always an honor to get to photograph such a special day for my couples in that setting!
But really, Michelle and Brian were the best part of the wedding day, let’s be real. These two were so fun to work for and with. They were so smitten with one another and incorporated so many small, personal details into their wedding day that made it so unique and true-to-themselves. I adored their first look and getting to see the butterflies burst into huge, excited smiles. The way that Brian would look at Michelle the entire day was so sweet! We were able to take most of their formal bridal party and family photos prior to their ceremony which allowed the couple to join in their cocktail hour to catch up with guests traveling from near and far. They had their ceremony in the outdoor space with the vertical hanging garden and reception dinner was held on the second floor space that had gorgeous wooden floors and warm walls. We snuck out at the end of dinner to catch the sunset on top of a parking garage so that the two could have some solo time to take in the feelings of their wedding day, and ended with a crazy dance party on the first floor led by the talented DJ Mast. Their wedding day concluded with a sparkler send off with a sky full of stars. It was an absolutely wonderful wedding, and one that I think back to often as a highlight from last wedding season. Enjoy some of my favorite photos and see the talented vendors that helped their wedding day come to life at the end of this post!
