How many hours do we need?

I offer packages with 7 and 9 hours of coverage. In my experience, 7 hours can cover most of the events on a wedding day, however, this option is a better fit for laid-back weddings without a long list of events. If you prefer to not hustle through the reception to have later affairs photographed, I recommend going with the 9 hour package. Our packages are customizable, so you’re also welcome to add on additional hours of coverage too!


Do you photograph weddings with a second shooter?

A second photographer is very helpful, and I highly recommend having a second photographer if it is within your budget! I photograph about 70% of my weddings with a second photographer present. Whenever it’s logistically impossible to have coverage in two places at once, when you have a large guest list, or for any time you want that extra coverage. Since our packages are customizable, you can add on a second photographer or opt to forgo one!


Can I see a full gallery of your work?

Absolutely! What you see on social media isn’t always a great representation of what an entire wedding day looks like. I’d be happy to send over some full wedding galleries for you to take a look at that have been recently delivered to our clients. Having a good idea of what a full wedding day may look like is important. You can see snippets of full wedding galleries here.


Will we be able to meet up before the wedding day?

Of course. I want to make sure that we’re 100% a solid fit for what you’re looking for in a wedding photographer, and that you’ll be comfortable with having our team around for such a monumental day. One of our wedding packages includes a complimentary engagement session which gives us a chance to meet in person, you can get a feel for how we go about photographing portraits, and we get a chance to see how you respond to our direction and what captures your authenticity. If you opt for a package that doesn’t include an engagement session, we can meet at a local coffee shop, or if you’re from farther away we can chat over FaceTime or Skype.


What does the typical process look like?

Typically, the wedding experience flows like this:

  • Inquire and correspond by email or phone, answer any questions, grab coffee, get acquainted with one another, etc.

  • Book and secure your wedding date with a signed contract and retainer payment

  • Set up your complimentary engagement session, receive your photos, send your save-the-dates

  • 6 months BW (Before Wedding): Receive our wedding tips guide in the mail - read all that detailed goodness and start thinking about your wedding day flow

  • 1 month BW: Fill out our wedding questionnaire which helps us put together a suggested photography timeline for your wedding day, determine if you want to add additional hours of coverage or a second shooter

  • 2 weeks BW: Go back and forth to finalize the wedding day flow, distribute the timeline to your immediate family and bridal party, etc.

  • WEDDING DAY: Share your vows, laugh, cry, spend some solo moments with you new husband or wife, look over the wonderful day you planned for months, catch up with old friends and family, eat, dance and celebrate! Then go on your honeymoon and relax - wedding planning is hard work!

  • 2 weeks AW (After Wedding): Receive a sneak-peek gallery with a few images from your wedding day to share with friends and family.

  • Approximately 8-10 weeks AW: Receive all of your high-resolution wedding photos, authorized print release, and any other deliverables you ordered. If you’re ordering an album you will select your images for proofing at this time. After you finalize the album proofs, your heirloom album will be delivered to you in approximately 6-8 weeks!

  • Anytime AW: Come back for anniversary sessions, maternity and family sessions as you and your significant other grow your family, or other milestones you want captured to freeze those fleeting moments in time! Returning clients will receive a lifetime discount of 10% off any session following their wedding.


Pricing

 

How do we book?

To reserve your wedding date, we require a signed contract and non-refundable retainer payment of half the cost of your selected package. The remainder of your bill is due one month before your wedding day. Unfortunately, we do not hold wedding dates without a signed contract and retainer payment in place. If/when you’re ready to move forward, let us know and we can get that process rolling!


Do you charge tax?

Yes. Your package will include taxes for wherever your home address is, regardless of where your photos are taken, at the normal rate for goods. If you live in Pennsylvania, your final bill will include the 6% Pennsylvania sales tax. If you do not live in Pennsylvania, your final bill will reflect the appropriate tax for your home state, where you will receive digital or physical photos.


Can we create a custom package?

Our packages include base rates where you can add additional hours of coverage, a second shooter, products, etc. Most packages are customized to some extent!


Do you travel?

Absolutely! We travel all around the mid-atlantic area and several times outside of this area. Travel rates are based on travel from our base in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. For each package, 30 miles of travel is included. Mileage beyond this is rated at $0.58/mile. For travel beyond 250 miles, suitable accommodation for one night is required.

Depending on the destination, travel fees may include flights, taxi, subway, rental car and accommodation. At the time of booking, these fees are based off of searches on Expedia. Additional fees may be added for interstate or international travel for time spent traveling and/or any other expenses that may come up. We are overly cautious when it comes to interstate or international travel due to delays and always prefer to leave plenty of time to arrive for the event.


Deliverables

 

What is your turnaround time?

Turnaround time depends on the ebb and flow of the season, but is typically 8-10 weeks. Rush turnaround time is available upon request with a rush fee.


What resolution are our photos delivered in?

Your photographs are delivered in the highest resolution available after processing and cropping, which means that most images are delivered at very high sizes. Your photographs will be delivered at a resolution that is more than enough for typical print projects.


How do we receive our photographs?

Your images are delivered through an online delivery system where you can download the files directly to your computer or storage device. In addition, there is an online gallery that can be shared with family and friends.


Who owns the copyright?

Copyright is maintained by Alyssa Christine Photography, however, all clients receive a personal, authorized print release and media permissions for non-commercial usage. If you have concerns about privacy, please let us know.


What is the album process like?

Once you receive your photos, you will help select photos to include in your heirloom album. Different family groupings and particular materials, for example, are impossible for me to decide for you. Once you select your cover materials and photographs, our team will design your album spreads and send it over to you for final approval prior to submitting the order to our professional printing lab. From there, it will take approximately 6-8 weeks to create and deliver to you.
